§ Mr. Beithasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will place in the Library or publish in the Official Report the tables of service expenditure patterns for individual local authorities since 1978–79 which have been assembled through his Department's computer.
§ Mr. WaldegraveI will place a copy of the tables in the Library during the recess. These show, for each major spending authority in England, expenditure per head on each broad service in 1981–82 and 1983–84. and a comparison between these expenditures in the two years. The tables also include the class average expenditures. Detailed figures of service expenditures in years as early as 1978–79 are thought to be less reliable than those for 1981–82.
