§ Mr. Farrasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry (1) if he will introduce a scheme on the lines of the small engineering firms investment scheme 2 to encourage the re-equipment of knitwear and hosiery factories;
(2) if he will give a swift and positive response to the proposals submitted by the knitting industry for Government assistance to introduce new technology.
§ Mr. TrippierThe economic development committee for the knitting industry has proposed a scheme of this kind and this proposal is still under consideration.
