HC Deb 19 December 1983 vol 51 c68W
Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has received since 9 June concerning the extension of the invalid care allowance to married or cohabiting women.

Mr. Newton

Since 9 June we have received a representation from the women's committee of the Greater London council, and about 160 letters from members of the public which have been forwarded by hon. Members or sent direct. We have also had about 260 pre-printed postcards on behalf of an organisation in Leicester, and the hon. and learned Member for Leicester, West (Mr. Janner) has presented me with a petition on behalf of some of his constituents.
