§ Mr. Macmillanasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on his review of 25W the Historic Buildings Bureau; and whether the policy of charging both readers and advertisers for the quarterly list of historic buildings for sale has ensured its survival.
§ Mr. MacfarlaneIntroduction of charges for the Historic Buildings Bureau quarterly list led to a very steep drop in the number of both readers and advertisers. In view of the evident lack of demand for a service already available in part from other organisations, I have decided that the January list will be the last. In future the Historic Buildings Bureau will concentrate resources on seeking new means for selected important buildings which appear to be at risk.
