§ Mr. Tony Banksasked the Under-Secretary of State answering in respect of the Arts if he will make a statement about the recent meeting of the Minister for the Arts with the Friends of Kenwood.
§ Mr. WaldegraveLord Moyne and Mr. George Levy, on behalf of the Friends of the Iveagh Bequest, Kenwood, met my noble Friend the Minister for the Arts on 23 November. They put the case for establishing Kenwood under an independent board of trustees after the abolition of the Greater London council in 1986. My noble Friend listened carefully to their representations and undertook to take no decisions about the future of the museum without giving them the opportunity to discuss the matter further.
