§ Mr. Tony Banksasked the Under-Secretary of Slate answering in respect of the Arts how many submissions he has received in favour of the Government's proposal as set out in the consultative paper on the Arts.
§ Mr. WaldegraveFormal submissions are awaited from the majority of the arts bodies affected, and from the local authorities, as well as from the Arts Council and the Museums and Galleries Commission. To date, no submission has been unreservedly in favour, but many have made constructive alternative suggestions as regards the future of particular arts bodies and institutions after the abolition of the Greater London and metropolitan county councils in 1986.
