§ Mr. Wardasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will introduce legislation to prevent any commercial surrogate parenthood organisation being established in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeI am aware of and share the widespread concern about the activities of such organisations. But I consider that the consideration of legislation will be better informed when we have the advice of the Government's inquiry into human fertilisation and embryology which is examining surrogacy and related issues very closely. I expect to receive that advice in the summer of 1984.
