§ 30. Mr. Sumbergasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he is satisfied with the provisions of the Copyright Act 1956 so far as they relate to the showing of video films in places such as hospitals.
§ Mr. ButcherThe Copyright Act 1956 gives owners of copyright in video and other films the right to control the showing of their works in public and there are no plans to alter this. It is of course a matter for the courts in cases of dispute to determine whether the showing in a particular location such as a hospital ranks as a public showing.
