HC Deb 13 December 1983 vol 50 c418W
Mr. Redmond

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is his estimate of the cost of extending to women teachers all the superannuation benefits available to men teachers; what steps would need to be taken to achieve this; and if he will set a timetable for doing so.

Mr. Dunn

The latest available estimate is that to extend to women teachers all the superannuation benefits available to men teachers would add 0.4 per cent. to the rate of contributions required in relation to each member of the teachers superannuation scheme. No progress can be made nor a timetable set until agreement is reached on how the additional contributions should be borne.
