HC Deb 13 December 1983 vol 50 cc425-6W
30. Mr. Stanbrook

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will call for a report on the circumstances in which the accident and emergency services at Orpington hospital have been suspended overnight.

Mr. John Patten

We see no reason to require health authorities to submit reports on temporary measures. A proposal to suspend these services permanently would be subject to the formal consultation procedure.
