HC Deb 13 December 1983 vol 50 c428W
44. Mr. Tony Lloyd

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he is satisfied with the standard of hospital provisions in Greater Manchester.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

There is scope for improving the standard both of hospital and community services provision throughout the country and our policies are designed to achieve that objective. We are satisfied that the health authorities responsible for services in Greater Manchester are achieving a reasonable standard of service and that they are doing their best to continue to seek to improve that standard and remedy shortcomings where they exist.
