HC Deb 13 December 1983 vol 50 c402W
Q57. Mr. Ioan Evans

asked the Prime Minister what action she proposes to take to implement the decisions made at the Commonwealth conference in New Delhi.

The Prime Minister

We will, as always, play as full a role as possible in the implementation of the major decisions taken at the recent Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in New Delhi. Work is already in hand on the contribution that we might make towards the Commonwealth Secretary-General's study on the special needs of small states. We shall participate fully as a member of the Commonwealth consultative group on economic issues. We are already active over the Cyprus problem and shall keep in touch with the work of the newly formed Commonwealth Action Group on Cyprus. We shall continue to contribute to the promotion of a constructive dialogue in the conduct of East-West relations and of the other measures set out in the Goa declaration on internal security.
