HC Deb 13 December 1983 vol 50 c392W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will discuss with the police the adequacy of their powers to prosecute those who abuse citizens band radio channels by the broadcasting of offensive or indecent messages.

Mr. Hurd

The primary responsibility for enforcement of the wireless telegraphy legislation and of conditions of citizens band radio licences rests with the radio interference service of British Telecom, acting on behalf of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry.
