§ Mr. Ron Daviesasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will estimate the number of jobs created in Wales as a result of urban aid expenditure in industry-related projects in Wales for the years 1979–80, 1980–81, 1981–82 and 1983–84.
§ Mr. Nicholas Edwards[pursuant to his reply, 8 December 1983, c. 249]: On the basis of information supplied by applicant local authorities, it is estimated that since 1980–81, when the economic element of the urban 378W programme first became significant, some 8,400 job opportunities have resulted or will result from economic projects assisted by the urban programme.
