§ Mr. Tony Banksasked the Under-Secretary of State answering in respect of the Arts if he will publish the latest available details of amounts spent on the arts, excluding libraries, by each of the district councils within those metropolitan counties the Government wish to abolish, and indicate the per capita sum involved in each case.
§ Mr. WaldegraveLocal authorities' budget estimates for expenditure on the arts are published by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy in annual volumes of leisure and recreation statistics. The latest volumes cover 1982–83. Copies are available in the Library of the House.
