§ Mr. Jannerasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will deposit a copy in the Library of any ethnic monitoring check he has carried out in respect of employees of his Department.
§ Mr. GummerIn March 1983 the Government announced that they had decided to gain broader experience of ethnic monitoring by arranging to hold surveys of the ethnic origin of civil servants in the north west economic planning region and the county of Avon. The two surveys were conducted in November and covered non-industrial civil servants in the two regions in this, and other, Departments. It is hoped that some statistical information on the results of the surveys will be available in the spring next year.
