§ Sir David Priceasked the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects to complete his consultations about the proposed extension of the M3 from Bar End to Chilworth and to publish the necessary orders; and when he hopes construction to begin and the new section of the M3 to be opened to traffic.
§ Mrs. ChalkerI announced on 14 September that I had accepted, in principle, the consultants' report on the further extension of the M3 from Bar End to Bassett—Chilworth — following my consideration of comments from the local authorities and the public. I hope to be able to publish draft orders in the first half of next year and, subject to the outcome, to start construction during 1986 for completion in 1988.
