§ Mr. David MitchellMy right hon. Friend has today written to the chairman of British Rail, conveying his approval of the board's proposal to build 149 electric multiple unit vehicles at an estimated cost of £35.69 43W million. The vehicles will, I understand, be built at York by British Rail Engineering Limited. They will operate on London commuter services.
