§ Mr. Dubsasked the Secretary of State for Transport which London boroughs have given him an assurance that they will maintain concessionary fares at their present real levels if responsibility for the scheme is passed to them.
§ Mrs. ChalkerSince the real level of concessionary fares is the product of the cost in any particular year to the transport undertaking of providing concessionary travel for the specified beneficiaries, such an assurance about the future would be heroic from a transport undertaking and nonsensical from a London borough.
