§ Mr. Nealeasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if it is the intention of Her Majesty's Government to allocate further blocks of radio frequency channels to the 47 existing public mobile radio telephone service companies in view of the congestion on existing frequencies and the growth in demand for services.
§ Mr. Alexander FletcherAt the beginning of 1985 two major new frequency bands will be released for land mobile services. This will permit a major expansion of such services and offer opportunities to all companies operating in this field. In the short term, 10 channels are to be made available immediately throughout the country for the establishment of local multi-channel mobile radio services. Applications will be invited shortly.
