Dr. McDonald

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he will provide additional financial resources to ensure that all National Health Service hospitals in the Greater London council area have adequate incineration facilities and can provide the additional fuel, inter-hospital transport and staff necessary to ensure that clinical waste in the Greater London council area is disposed of by this method;

(2) if he is satisfied with the proposals of the working party on the disposal of clinical waste in the London area concerning the transportation of such waste from the hospitals, nursing homes and other medical establishments concerned to the tips;

(3) when he plans to implement the recommendations of the working party on the disposal of clinical waste in the London area.
