§ Mr. BrittanThe trend of inflation over the past year has been sharply downwards. The increase in the retail prices index in the 12 months to March 1982 was 10.4 per cent. The corresponding figure for March 1983 was 4.6 per cent. Inflation is now at its lowest level since June 1968.
