HC Deb 26 April 1983 vol 41 c291W
Mr. McCrindle

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what contacts have taken place between European Community Governments about the disposal of toxic waste from the Seveso explosion

Mr. Giles Shaw

I believe that various multilateral and bilateral discussions have taken place between representatives of member Governments.

Mr. McCrindle

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether the inquiries referred to in the answer of 15 April, Official Report, c. 464, included investigations as to whether toxic waste from the Seveso explosion had already been brought into the United Kingdom.

Mr. Giles Shaw

Inquiries then and since have included this point, and there is no evidence that this waste has been brought into the United Kingdom.
