§ 23. Mr. Allan Robertsasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science, pursuant to the answer of 9 November 1982, Official Report, c. 415, which encouraged institutions not to increase their hall fees by more than the student grant increase, in view of the fact that the 1982–83 hall fees rose by about 12 per cent. and the grant rose by 4 per cent., if he will issue further guidance to universities and other institutions about the level of hall fees.
§ Mr. WaldegraveNo. The level of such fees is a matter for the institutions and my right hon. Friend does not propose to issue any guidance.
