HC Deb 26 April 1983 vol 41 c273W
Mr. Home Robertson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what assessment he makes of the comparative effectiveness of hunting as a means of killing foxes; and what information he has as to how many foxes were killed by hunting, shooting, poisoning and trapping, respectively, in the last year for which figures are available.

Mr. John MacKay

My right hon. Friend has no recent information on the number of foxes killed by different methods and he is not in a position to comment on the effectiveness of hunting as a means of fox control.
