§ Mr. Tony Spellerasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, following the Rayner report of the scrutiny of Civil Service catering how many further experimental sandwich-based facilities will be set up; and in which locations.
§ Mr. HayhoeTwo further experimental sandwich-based facilities are at present planned. One is at the DHSS office at Bedford, where there are 190 non-industrial civil servants, to be operated by a contractor; the second is at the DHSS office in Paisley, where there are 350 non-industrial civil servants, to be operated by CISCO.
§ Mr. Tony Spellerasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer on what basis he calculated the 50 per cent. increase from 10p to 15p in the sandwich price at the experimental sandwich facility set up by the Rayner scrutiny team at the Inland Revenue office in Wimbledon.
§ Mr. HayhoeThe pilot project in the Inland revenue office at Wimbledon was set up last November as part of an overall programme to test and evaluate different strategies for civil service catering. The selling price of the "subsidised" sandwich was initially set at 10p, but in my judgment it was appropriate to increase it to 15p at the end of March.
