HL Deb 25 April 1983 vol 441 cc796-7WA
Lord Melchett

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether, in view of the widespread opposition to the Crown Estate Commissioners' proposed upland improvement scheme on Plynlimon Common, and in view of the fact that Dyfed County Council considers the scheme to be contrary to the Structure Plan, the Secretary of State for Wales will hold a public inquiry before reaching any decision on this matter.

The Lord Privy Seal (Baroness Young)

The Secretary of State for Wales has before him two applications to erect fencing and is considering them in the light of objections and comments from bodies concerned. No decision has been taken to hold an inquiry.
