§ Dr. Summerskillasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will seek to amend the Broadcasting Act 1981 to require the Independent Broadcasting Authority to give its consent to any significant changes in the character and composition of its programme contracting companies.
§ Mr. MellorThe Act already enables the IBA to provide for such changes to be subject to its approval and we have no reason to think that additional powers are needed.
