What was the number of sentenced, unsentenced and non-criminal persons respectively in Prison Department establishments in England and Wales who were mentally disordered within the meaning of the Mental Health Act 1959, as at 30th March 1982.

The number of persons in Prison Department establishments in England and Wales on 31st March 1982 who were considered by prison medical officers to be mentally disordered within the meaning of the Mental Health Act 1959 was as follows: Sentenced, 139; Unsentenced, 148; Noncriminal, none.
