Why the Inland Compendium of Postal Rates as from 5th April contains no reference to the existence of the overnight letter Telemessage service and, as these are delivered by post, whether they agree that details thereof, including the relative charges, should be made more widely known.
§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Health and Social Security (Lord Trefgarne)The Telemessage service is provided by British Telecom, which utilises the postal delivery service in a similar way to any other customer. The Post Office, in delivering the message, is therefore acting solely as an agent for British Telecom and it would be inappropriate for details to appear in the Post Office'sInland Compendium of Postal Rates.
