§ Mr. Thomas Coxasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when the next review as to the possible release of Mr. Ian Ball, at present held at Broadmoor hospital, is due to take place.
§ Mr. MayhewIt is open to the responsible medical officer to recommend Mr. Ball's discharge at any time. If he is still detained in hospital on 30 September 1983, when the main provisions of the Mental Health (Amendment) Act 1982 come into effect, Mr. Ball will then be able to apply to a mental health review tribunal for discharge.
