Friends the Prime Minister and the Foreign Secretary discussed the economic and social situation in the European Community and the international economic environment at the European Council on 21 and 22 March. My right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary visited the United States from 27 February to 5 March and discussed the world economic situation and its effect on international relations with United States leaders on several occasions during his visit.
