Whether the research project mentioned as being under consideration in the Home Office Research and planning Unit's "Programme 1982–83", on the relationship between the consumption of alcohol and the circumstances of arrest, has now been launched, and whether they will give details of the terms of reference.
§ Lord EltonA study which would focus on the question of the extent to which arrested offenders have been drinking is being designed; but there are methodological difficulties associated with such research, and we are not yet in a position to launch the study.
