HC Deb 28 October 1982 vol 29 c532W
Mr. Ron Brown (Leith)

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what were the results of the recent visit by the Under-Secretary of State, the hon. Member for Edinburgh, North (Mr. Fletcher) to police establishments in Edinburgh and Leith.

Mr. Alexander Fletcher

I was interested to see at first hand the work of the police in relation particularly to the problems of young people. The visit provided valuable insight not only into the circumstances in which they and others can become involved in criminal activity but also the conditions under which the police work in maintaining law and order on the streets and in public places.
