§ Mr. Foulkesasked the Secretary of State for Defence on whose initiative the visit of British hon. Members to the Falkland Islands was arranged; what is the purpose of the visit; what it will cost; and who will cover the costs involved.
§ Mr. Wiggin:The visit was arranged in response to requests from right hon. and hon. Members to familiarise them with the conditions for the civil community and the Armed Forces on the Falkland Islands. It is not possible at the present to provide an estimate of the cost, all of which will be met by the Ministry of Defence.
