§ Mr. Bestasked the Attorney-General if he will give (a) the average and (b)the longest time from submitting an appeal against conviction to the Registrar of Criminal Appeals to the obtaining of transcripts of the trial or relevant parts thereof and the placing of the papers before a single judge.
The Solicitor-General:The information sought is not recorded in the form requested and could be provided only at disproportionate cost. The average period between a request by the Registrar of criminal appeals for a transcript and the delivery of the transcript to him is at present 5.2 weeks.
