§ Mr. Mayhew:We understand from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis and the Commissioner of Police for the City of London that, because it was possible to arrange the precise numbers and duties of their officers well in advance and within ordinary working periods, no additional cost was incurred in police deployment on this occasion.
