§ Mr. Marksasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, in view of explosions and fires in the Greater Manchester area, he will expedite legislation to increase planning control on hazardous installations and the storage of hazardous goods.
§ Mr. Giles Shaw:We have issued a consultation paper setting out our proposals for improving planning controls over hazardous development. Comments have been invited by 19 November 1982 and we will then be considering as a matter of urgency what changes should be made.
