§ Mr. Wheelerasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what progress has been made with the consultations with the local authority associations on a circular designed to clarify aspects of the law governing fire safety in houses in multiple occupation.
§ Mr. Stanley:My right hon. Friend and my right hon. Friends the Secretaries of State for the Home Department and for Wales have today issued a joint circular—"Fire Safety in Houses in Multiple Occupation", giving guidance to local housing and fire authorities on the scope and nature of the wide variety of powers and responsibilities they have for fire safety in relation to houses in multiple occupation.
