Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) whether, in view of the high level of unemployment in Liverpool, he will ensure that the Merseyside area office for the Employment Services Department continues in Liverpool;

(2) what representations he has received from the Liverpool city council concerning the Rayner scrutiny of the employment services; what reply he has sent; and if he will make a statement.
