§ Mr. Waddington:I am advised that the Health and Safety Executive has consulted the Department of Health and Social Security on the potential human carcinogenicity of chrysoidine dye. The DHSS committee on carcinogenicity of chemicals in food, consumer products and the environment discussed the subject at its meeting on 28 September and decided that there was insufficient evidence at present to determine whether there is a link between chrysoidine and bladder cancer. The committee agreed to seek further information on the subject.
