All chief fire officers and firemasters receive at least one copy of all official publications by FRS authors. The building research establishment circulates widely to local authorities three issues per year of its publication "BRE News" in which information is given about new fire research publications. The fire research station has for many years answered specific queries on fire matters from local authorities.
