HC Deb 21 October 1982 vol 29 c182W
Mr. Freud

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will publish in the Official Report the numbers of young people in the area covered by offices in March, Wisbech and Ely who (a) have been unemployed for more than six months and (b) have been found jobs under the youth opportunities programme.

Mr. Peter Morrison:

At 8 July 1982, the latest date for which an analysis by age and by duration of unemployment is available, there were 262 young people under 20 years of age registered as unemployed for over 26 weeks in the area covered by the March, Wisbech and Ely employment offices.

Figures are not available below regional level of the number of young people who are on youth opportunities programme schemes.
