§ 10. Sir William van Straubenzeeasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what recent discussions he has had with representatives of the Spanish Government on the future of Gibraltar.
§ Mr. HurdAs my right hon. Friend reported to the House on 22 June, he met the Spanish Foreign Minister on 21 June. My right hon. Friend later had a meeting with the Spanish Foreign Minister in New york on 30 September during which he had a brief exchange of views on the subject of Gibraltar.
§ 27. Sir Patrick Wallasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the assistance being given to Gibraltar.
§ Mr. RifkindA grant of £4 million was agreed in December 1981 for urgent development projects in Gibraltar. It has now all been either committed or earmarked for specific projects. A technical co-operation programme of £1 million over three years was also agreed in 1981.
