§ Mr. Knoxasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on progress towards a common European Economic Community foreign policy.
§ Mr. PymThe Ten are steadily strengthening their co-operation on foreign policy matters. Their ability to respond collectively to international events has been demonstrated in the past few months in the case of the Falklands, Poland and the Lebanon. Based on the London report of October 1981, the Government are committed to work for still closer and more effective co-operation among the Ten. In particular, we have recently put forward ideas to improve co-operation between the embassies of the Ten in third countries.
