§ Mr. Freesonasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he intends to extend the provisions of the assured tenancy scheme to newly renovated and converted properties; and if he will add appropriate developers, organisations and private landlords to his approved list for this purpose.
§ Mr. StanleyI shall bear the right hon. Member's suggestion in mind. His proposed change would, however, require primary legislation, as under section 56 of the Housing Act 1980 assured tenancies are confined to buildings erected after the passing of that Act.
