§ Mr. John Browneasked the Secretary of State for Employment how many man-days have been lost so far in the current year in(a)the public sector and(b)the private sector.
§ Mr. Waddington:It is not possible to give precise figures for the current year, but, of the 5.7 million working days lost through industrial disputes in the eight months to August 1982, it is estimated that 4.4 million were in the public sector and 1.3 million in the private sector.
