§ 26. Mr. Nicholas Bakerasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he is satisfied with the rate of introduction of schemes for industrial training within industrial companies.
§ Mr. Peter Morrison:The available evidence suggests that firms in the United Kingdom generally pay less attention to training than our major overseas competitors. The White Paper "A New Training Initiative: A Programme for Action" (Cmnd. 8455) made specific proposals for radically improving our existing training framework. My right hon. Friend and I welcome the wide support for the White Paper and the progress being made in following it up.
