32. Mr. Colvin

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will seek to improve public awareness of the work of the Health and Safety Executive.

Mr. Waddington:

The Health and Safety Executive already makes substantial efforts to ensure that its work is adequately publicised.

I am aware, however, that the Health and Safety Commission is reviewing what is being done to see if its effectiveness can be increased.
