§ Mr. Greville Jannerasked the Minister for the Civil Service whether he will take steps to ensure the monitoring of equal opportunity policy among employees of central Government.
§ Mr. Hayhoe:As the hon. and learned Member may know, a pilot survey to establish the ethnic origin of some non-industrial Civil Service grades in Leeds took place in May. A similar survey among applicants for Civil Service posts in Leeds was held between May and September. The main part of the report on the survey will be published soon. We will need to decide how to proceed once the results of this pilot are known. In addition a joint review group has recently been considering employment opportunities for women in the Civil Service and its report is due to be published shortly.
